Dubai swimmers to make splash for people in need

Dubai: Swimmers are being beckoned to the sea by medical aid organisation Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) to swim around the Burj Al Arab hotel and raise money for people in need.

The annual Swim Burj Al Arab will be hosted by Wild Wadi this year with the support of the Red Crescent in benefit of MSF.

The swim will be held on November 20 in the early morning on the shore in front of the Burj Al Arab and is open to more than 1,000 participants.

The course will follow a 1km arc around the iconic hotel, starting on the beach of the Madinat Jumeirah and finishing on the beach at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The swim will be supervised by the life guards from Wild Wadi Water Park.

Each participant is asked to pay Dh300 for a competitive heat or Dh350 for a family swim. All profits will go to MSF. Prizes will be awarded to the winners by Swarovski, Euroluxe and Sephora.
